Meet the BHP Family
Welcome from Rose Velez-Miggins, BS
(she/her/hers)

Rose has a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy from Temple University and an Associate’s degree in Psychology from Bucks County Community College. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in a licensed Marriage and Family Therapy program, focusing on individuals, couples, and families impacted by disability.
Rose has experience working with almost every population across the lifespan and particularly enjoys using activity-based interventions and community reintegration to empower people to find solutions to barriers to happiness, success, and meaningful relationships. In addition to people impacted by disability, she enjoys working with teen parents and assisting young adults to navigate the transitions that occur post-high school and college.
Rose founded the 501c(3) nonprofit, National Council on Relationships and Disability, Inc. in 2019 to improve the psychosocial, emotional, physical, interpersonal, and intimate health and wellness of individuals with disabilities through direct clinical care and by enhancing clinical applications and patient outcomes via clinician education, training, and certifications. She does guest lectures, in-services, and curriculum design to improve clinician preparedness and patient outcomes related to intimacy, relationships, and sex for people with disabilities.
When she is not focused on her career in the mental health field, Rose runs a beauty consulting business, operates an organization to help reunite adoptees and birth parents, and enjoys spending time indulging in self-care with her family, friends, and pets!
