Meet the BHP Family
Welcome from Sacha Cheng, MS
(she/her/hers)
Ms. Cheng received her M.S. degree in Psychology of Mental Health from the University of Edinburgh in 2020. She also holds a B.A. degree in International Communication Studies from the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling at
Johns Hopkins University. Her cross-disciplinary background allows her to see mental health issues from different perspectives.
Ms. Cheng believes in the healing power of empathy and hopes to provide a safe environment for her clients to explore their feelings, needs, and strengths. Before this position, she worked and volunteered in mental health platforms, secondary/higher education institutions, and hospital settings, where she developed her interest in becoming a counselor. She also has research experiences on topics such as life stress, identity issues, and the influence of trauma among young adults.
With her own experience as an international student in both the U.K. and the U.S., Ms. Cheng understands how stressful it can be when adjusting to new social and institutional environments. She is interested in talking about cultural and linguistic issues in mental well-being and is passionate
about empowering culturally diverse groups. Besides English, she also speaks Mandarin. She loves to work with clients in both languages.
