Meet the BHP Family
Welcome from Jeanette Willoughby, MS (she/her/hers)
Jeanette is on the road to becoming a Licensed Marriage Therapist with a concentration on the young adult African-American population. Jeanette has been a mentor for people for over 20 years. Although Jeanette is preparing for her journey into the clinical arena, her experience as a wife, mother, aunt, sibling, author, and supervisor has given her experience in empowering others to seek the best in themselves.
Although Jeanette has been working in law enforcement for the past 25 years, she has experience working with clients due to her forensic background, which entails analyzing physical evidence using various analysis techniques such as chemical, instrumental, microscopic, and physical. She writes detailed reports for legal proceedings and other related work as required.
Jeanette became interested in the mental health field when her husband of 30 years passed away, and she sought counseling after going through a rough mourning period. She realized then how beneficial therapy was for her. Jeanette wants to help her African American
communities benefit from therapy as she did.
Jeannette enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys singing, reading, writing, traveling, and cooking when the time permits. Jeanette also enjoys meeting new people of diverse backgrounds. With her job experience, she encounters a variety of scenarios
that assist her in her goal of becoming a therapist for her community.
