Kayla Glick, BA

Counseling Trainee

Taking Clients Starting 6/2/2025

Welcome from Kayla Glick, BA (she/her/hers)

Kayla is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University, where she is building on her longstanding commitment to social justice, healing, and community care. Her path to the counseling profession has been anything but linear—and it’s this richness of experience that deeply informs her therapeutic approach.

In 2013, Kayla earned her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies from Tufts University. While the world of ancient languages and histories may seem worlds away from counseling, it cultivated in her a love for storytelling, critical thinking, and an understanding of how culture, identity, and power have always shaped human experience. After graduation, Kayla spent the next ten years immersed in community organizing and advocacy work, focusing on issues such as housing justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and economic equity. These years working alongside individuals and communities striving for change deeply impacted her and helped shape her into a thoughtful, compassionate listener and advocate.

As a future clinician, Kayla brings this same passion for equity and collective care into the therapy room. Her approach is queer- and trans-affirming, weight-inclusive, and rooted in cultural humility. She strives to meet each client where they are, honoring their full selves and lived experiences without judgment. Whether someone is navigating identity exploration, trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or relationship challenges, Kayla aims to create a space where they feel safe, supported, and heard.

She believes that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process, and she works collaboratively with clients to find what feels right and meaningful for them. Her style is warm, relational, and grounded in a belief in people’s inherent resilience and capacity for growth.

Originally from Connecticut, Kayla finds grounding and joy in life’s small, meaningful moments. When she’s not studying or in session, you can often find her outdoors—on a trail, in a garden, or simply soaking up the sun. She also enjoys cooking (especially for loved ones), crafting, and getting lost in a good book. These practices help her stay connected to herself and the values she brings into her work with others.
