Makaela James is a dedicated child advocate and emerging counseling professional with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Morgan State University and current graduate studies in Counseling Psychology at the University of Baltimore. Originally from Connecticut and now rooted in Maryland, Makaela is committed to promoting children’s emotional, mental, and social well-being through culturally responsive, strengths-based support.

For the past decade, Makaela has worked closely with children, fostering confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self-worth. Her mission is clear: to ensure every child she encounters feels seen, heard, and valued. Drawing from her experiences in social work, education, and community engagement, she brings honesty, trust, and an unwaveringly positive attitude to every interaction.

As an aspiring child therapist, Makaela is passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where children can thrive. Her work is grounded in advocacy and a belief in the transformative power of early emotional support. She envisions a future where every young mind has the resources and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.

With a heart for service and a deep commitment to growth, Makaela walks alongside children and their families—empowering them to face challenges, celebrate strengths, and build a foundation for lifelong success.
