Meet the BHP Family
Welcome from Gabriela Montes, BS (she/her/hers)

Gabriela Montes is a counseling intern with a strong passion for supporting individuals through life’s emotional and psychological challenges. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2023 and is currently pursuing her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University, with an expected graduation in May 2026. Guided by values of social justice, equity, and belonging, Gabriela is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and creating spaces where clients feel safe and supported.

With experience working alongside clients from diverse backgrounds, Gabriela incorporates evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care. She takes a client-centered approach, tailoring her interventions to the unique needs and goals of each individual she works with.
Gabriela believes in the power of empathy, presence, and authentic connection as tools for healing and growth. With warmth and respect, she walks alongside her clients as they build insight, strengthen resilience, and move toward greater emotional well-being.

Originally from Florida, Gabriela enjoys spending her free time capturing sunsets, stargazing, volunteering at the local SPCA, and engaging with Baltimore’s Latin community. She strives to live in alignment with her values—and brings that same intentionality into her work with clients.
